Young Canadian Travels to Rwanda to Support a Sawa Leader

While in Vancouver, Sawa World connected former child soldier and Sawa Leader, Seleman Nizeyimana of Rwanda with Hanna Perry. Inspired by his work, which provides job skills training to vulnerable youth, Perry traveled to Rwanda to get involved. During the past 8 weeks Perry has lived in Kigali where she has been assisting Nizeyimana with his work and several new projects.

Perry helped Seleman purchase health insurance for all 180 widows and children with HIV/AIDS. Perry also has helped Nizeyimana develop an eco-stove building program for unemployed boys that will provide long-term income.

Of her time in Rwanda she says, "My days are filled with new experiences and I feel unbelievably privileged to be able to participate with Seleman and Sawa Global in making a difference in so many lives."
