Canadian Medical Students visit Sawa Leader in Uganda

Sawa Leader, Dr. Robert who operates the African Community Center for Social Sustainability (ACCESS) will be hosting two medical students and two nurses from the University of British Columbia’s (UBC) Global Health Initiative for one month. Sawa Global introduced the Global Health Initiative program to Dr. Robert’s clinic last year allowing them to further their mandate to enhance global health. The students who arrived June 18th will learn first hand the challenges of providing medical care in a setting with limited resources. While there, the students will also conduct a community training program on primary health care for community health workers, and once they return from Uganda, be the team that represents ACCESS at the University of British Columbia.
